If playback doesn't begin shortly, try restarting your device. It seems all media players (windows media player, itunes, spotify, W8 music app, etc.) This force signs you out of every instance of Spotify on all your devices. Whenever I double click on a song or press a play button Spotify will skip exactly 6 songs and then play 9 or 10 seconds of the 6th before it won't play any more.
I've been curating playlists the last 11 years on Spotify. I have looked at other posts on similar problems, and the Spotify team has marked them as "resolved" (when clearly it hasn't been) so it is obvious that they are doing nothing to fix the problem, even though it seems quite widespread. I have a Premium account and use it on my desktop PC running Chrome. since two weeks I cant use the spotify web-player in my vivaldi browser. If your Spotify web player stops working, there are a few things you can try to get it working again. I reconnected my Amazon Echo in the same spot, and it functions perfectly. When i start a song, the player automatically skips 4-5 songs, than starts playing a song for exactly 9 seconds and stops after that.
